PURPOSE: A drive shaft protection system and a method thereof are provided to enhance durability of a drive shaft by reducing control of output torque of an engine. CONSTITUTION: A drive shaft protection system comprises a vehicle condition detection part, a traction control part, and an engine control unit. The vehicle condition detection part provides vehicle information to the traction control part. The vehicle condition detection part comprises a gear level detector(11), a steering angle detector(12), a car speed detection unit(13), and a RPM detection unit(14). The traction control part analyzes information provided from the vehicle condition detection part. The traction control part requests torque reduction to the engine control unit if full steering is processed in backward driving and a transmission is under stall generation condition. |
