PURPOSE: A light emitting diode and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to include a fly eye lens on the surface of a molding part, thereby improving optical extraction efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A light emitting diode chip(120) is arranged on a base structure(110). The light emitting diode chip is electrically connected to the base structure through a bonding wire(125). A molding part(130) encapsulates the light emitting diode chip. A fly eye lens(140) is arranged on the surface of the molding part on a passage of light emitted from the light emitting diode chip. The fly eye lens comprises a plurality of convex lens cells.
