PURPOSE: A composition containing Oenanthe javanica(BLUME.) extract and a method for preparing the same are provided to prevent and relieve fatty liver. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing a composition containing OENANTHE javanica(BLUME.) extract for relieving fatty liver comprises: a step of drying and pulverizing whole plant or upper part of Oenanthe javanica(BLUME.); a step of adding extraction solvent and refluxing; and a step of filtering or concentrating the extract. The extraction solvent includes water or low carbon number alcohol of 1-4 carbon atoms.
