The invention relates to an element of the exhaust line (1) for an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle comprising a silencer (2) defined by a housing (3) which is delimited by a peripheral envelop (4) and, in the exhaust gas flow direction, by an inlet pipe (8) connected to the engine and an outlet pipe (9) leading into atmosphere, wherein said pipes (8, 9) lead inside the housing (3) of the silencer (2). The inventive element of the exhaust line (1) comprises deformation or rupture producing means (10) which defines the preferred deformation or rupture area thereof when the exhaust line (1) is exposed to an impact. |
