FIELD: physics. ^ SUBSTANCE: measuring system comprises: at least one temperature sensor, at least one pressure sensor, at least one flow sensor and an electronic measuring unit. The temperature sensor is placed at a temperature measurement point, reacts mainly to local temperature (æ) of the flowing medium and transmits at least one temperature measurement signal under the effect of the local temperature of the medium being measured. The pressure sensor is placed at a pressure measurement point, reacts mainly to local, particularly static, pressure (p) of the flowing medium and transmits at least one pressure measurement signal under the effect of the local pressure (p) of the medium being measured. The electronic measuring unit is connected, at least temporarily, to the temperature sensor, pressure sensor and flow sensor. The electronic measuring unit determines a pre-measured density value which is density the flowing medium is only assumed to have at a virtual density measurement point, particularly a density measurement point lying at a predetermined distance along the axis of flow from the pressure measurement point and/or temperature measurement point.
