FIELD: physics. ^ SUBSTANCE: cover glass of a microscope slide has a glass or plastic plate, having a first surface, a second surface and an outer peripheral edge. The first surface has an adhesive coating which forms an adhesive side, and the second surface has no adhesive coating to obtain a non-adhesive side. The adhesive side has dry, non-sticky state until it is activated by a solvent which endows it with sticky state. Said plate also has a sign for distinguishing the adhesive side from the non-adhesive side, said sign being a rounded or cut-off corner of the plate. The cover glass of the microscope slide is held in the cartridge of automatic apparatus for depositing cover glasses which has a surface of the corresponding shape for engaging the rounded or cut-off corner of the glass or plastic plate. ^ EFFECT: simple design and use of the cover glass. ^ 10 cl, 12 dwg |
