FIELD: medicine. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to diagnostics. Method includes carrying out colonoscopy of sigmoid colon. Into biopsy canal optic probe is introduced and laser fluorescent diagnostics is performed. For this purpose by means of source of laser radiation with wavelength 370 nm, fluorescence of colon wall tissues is excited in not fewer than 3 points along sigmoid colon from the side of the mucosa. In each of said points intensity of reflected collagen radiation Ifki at wavelength 420-450 nm and intensity of dispersed laser radiation Ili, at wavelength 370 nm are determined. Type of tissue of sigmoid colon is determined by value of coefficient of relative collagen fluorescence, which is calculated by formula: k = Ifik/(IfiK+Ili), where Ifki is intensity of reflected collagen radiation in the examined point, nm; Ili is intensity of reverse dispersed laser radiation in the examined point, nm. If values 0.05 < fK < 0.4 are obtained, presence of muscular tissue is determined. If values 0.5 < fK <1.4 are obtained, presence of muscular tissue with elements of connective protein tissue is determined.
