The semi-trailer has a base module comprising a floor (10) from which two side walls and a panel bottom (13) extends. An upper module (2) covers a base compartment, and is mounted in a vertically movable manner on the base compartment between a low position and a high position. A retractable closure unit is provided in a rear frame of the upper module. Another retractable closure unit is provided in a front bezel of the upper module. A thermal insulation unit is mounted between the side walls of the base module and a set of side panels of the upper module.
