PURPOSE: A cosmetic composition containing Veratrum maackii extract is provided to suppress collagenase action and to promote collagen synthesis. CONSTITUTION: A cosmetic composition for improving anti-wrinkling contains 0.0001-10 wt% of Veratrum maackii extract as an active ingredient. The extract is prepared by crushing Veratrum maackii, extracting with purified water, methanol, ethanol, propanol, butanol, glycerol, propylene glycol, 1,3-butylene glycol, methyl acetate, ethyl acetate, benzene, hexane, diethyl ether, or dichloromethane mixture, and freeze-drying. The composition is liquid, cream, paste, or solid phase.
