PURPOSE: A non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery is provided to restrain decomposition of an orthocarbonate ester compound in negative electrode at initial charging because of adding the orthocarbonate ester compound and a cyclic carbonate ester compound into a non-aqueous electrolyte together. CONSTITUTION: A non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises: non-aqueous electrolyte containing a positive electrode(33), a negative electrode(34), non-aqueous solvent and electrolyte salt. The non-aqueous electrolyte contains an orthocarbonate ester compound, and a cyclic carbonate ester compound. The content of the orthocarbonate ester compound is 0.01-2 weight% based on total amount of the non-aqueous electrolyte. The content of the cyclic carbonate ester compound is 0.5-5 weight% based on total amount of the non-aqueous electrolyte.
