<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a friction material including silicone rubber particles as a friction modifier, which has satisfactory abrasive resistance by inhibiting fall off of the silicone rubber particles caused by frictional impact upon braking. <P>SOLUTION: In the friction material including a fiber base material, a binder, an abrasive material, and the friction modifier, silane coupling agent dispersed silicone rubber particles in which a silane coupling agent is dispersed into silicone rubber particles are used as the friction modifier. The silane coupling agent dispersed silicone rubber particles contain the silane coupling agent by 0.1 to 5 wt.%, and 0.5 to 20 vol.% of the silane coupling agent dispersed silicone rubber particles are contained with respect to the total content of the friction material, and the silane coupling agent dispersed silicone rubber particles have an average particle diameter of 10 to 1,000 μm. Further, the friction material contains hard inorganic particles having a Mohs hardness of 5 to 9 and the average particle diameter of 1 to 15 μm by 0.1 to 20 vol.%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
