<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of stabilizing a source line potential while suppressing power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: When a control signal POL<SB POS="POST">2</SB>is a high level, a potential setting unit 2 outputs respective potentials from potential output ends D<SB POS="POST">1</SB>-D<SB POS="POST">n</SB>according to pixel values of n-pixels for one line to make the potential output ends D<SB POS="POST">n+1</SB>a high impedance state. Then, a switch 12 connects a source line S<SB POS="POST">n+1</SB>to wiring 5 for setting a potential V<SB POS="POST">p</SB>or wiring 6 for setting a potential V<SB POS="POST">n</SB>. Alternatively, when the control signal POL<SB POS="POST">2</SB>is a low level, the potential setting unit 2 outputs the respective potentials from potential output ends D<SB POS="POST">2</SB>-D<SB POS="POST">n+1</SB>according to the pixel values of n-pixels for one line to make the potential output end D<SB POS="POST">1</SB>a high impedance state.
