<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a permanent magnet implantation type rotor capable utilizing a magnet torque and a reluctance torque efficiently without reducing an embedding amount of a permanent magnet. <P>SOLUTION: A substantially cylindrical shaped rotor core 81 includes a plurality of permanent magnet embedding holes 82. Each of a plurality of permanent magnets 83 is embedded in each of the plurality of permanent magnet embedding holes 82 of the rotor core 81.
