<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber/cord composite material in which a cord and rubber are sufficiently adhered to prevent lowering durability and generation of a process failure even though it is low in cost, to provide a rubber composition used in the same, and to provide a pneumatic tire using the rubber/cord composite material. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a rubber/cord composite material for a pneumatic tire formed by coating a rubber composition on a surface of a cord in which the surface of the cord has unevenness of a predetermined depth. There is provided a rubber/cord composite material in which the cord is a bead wire used for a bead and has unevenness in terms of an average valley depth Rvm of 0.15 to 0.45 mm. There is provided a rubber/cord composite material in which the cord is a breaker wire used for a breaker and has unevenness in terms of Rvm of 0.05 to 0.15 mm. There is provided a rubber/cord composite material in which the cord is a steel filler used for a filler and has unevenness in terms of Rvm of 0.05 to 0.10 mm.
