METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR INTERCEPTING MEDIA CONTENTS IN IP MULTIMEDIA SUBSYSTEM

The present invention discloses a method for intercepting the media contents in an Internet Protocol (IP) Multimedia Subsystem (IMS). The IMS connects with the networks in the bearer layer through an IMS access gateway/interconnecting border control function entity (IBCF). The IMS access gateway/IBCF can not make the media negotiation with the data transmission function 3 (DF3) of the IMS. The method includes the steps: after receiving a session interception request, the IMS determines the port information of the DF3, to which the communication contents (CC) of the session to be intercepted will be reported, for the IMS access gateway/IBCF, and informs the IMS access gateway/IBCF; the IMS access gateway/IBCF reports the CC of the session to the determined port of the DF3. The present invention also discloses an apparatus for intercepting the media contents in the IMS and achieving the above method. The present invention modifies smally the prior system and can be compatible with a plurality of networks in the bearer layer.
