Provided is an insulin secretagogue which is effective in preventing diabetes and the like and which is very safe and free of concern of side effects even when ingested continuously. This insulin secretagogue contains, as an active ingredient, any of a phospholipid, a sucrose fatty acid ester, an HLB-4 to 15 polyglycerin fatty acid ester, or glycerin mono fatty acid ester, and is therefore very safe and free of concern of side effects even when ingested continuously. The phospholipid is preferably lecithin derived from soybeans. The HLB of the sucrose fatty acid ester is preferably 4 to 16. The carbon number of the constituent fatty acid of the glycerin mono fatty acid ester is preferably 8 to 12.
