A short-circuit detection device is provided with: a switch control unit (12) which performs one-shot output of a pulse signal to a switch connected to a power source to turn the switch ON for a period corresponding to the pulse width of the pulse signal, and performs one-shot input of current from the power source to a coil connected to the power source and the switch; a current detection unit (14) which detects the current output from the coil; and a short-circuit detection unit (16) which detects a short-circuit of the coil on the basis of the change of current values detected by the current detection unit (14) when the switch is turned ON.
