NOVEL METHOD FOR ANALYZING GLYCOSAMINOGLYCAN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method that can analyze a plurality of glycosaminoglycans simultaneously in one analysis in a simple and effective manner by high performance liquid chromatography utilizing a column with a stationary phase having anion and cation exchange groups.

SOLUTION: A glycosaminoglycan as a material to be tested is degraded to disaccharides which are constitutional units of the glycosaminoglycan. The disaccharides are captured by glycoblotting, and then released by acid treatment. The released disaccharides are then fluorescently labeled by reductive amination. The fluorescently labeled disaccharides are analyzed by high performance liquid chromatography utilizing a column with a stationary phase having anion and cation exchange groups.
