<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid level detector that secures degradation resistance and corrosion resistance practically and reduces material cost. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid level detector 1 includes: a resistance plate 13 having a plurality of conductive segments; a float 10 that vertically moves according to the displacement of a liquid level to be measured; a float arm 11 whose one end is attached to the float 10 and whose other end is rotatably supported so as to rotate according to the vertical movement of the float 10; and a contact point that slides on the plurality of conductive segments interlocking with the rotation of the float arm 11 according to the liquid level. The plurality of conductive segments are each composed of a glass calcination type metal body including a gold alloy material and a glass component. The gold alloy material contains gold of 18 or more percent by mass and less than 40 percent by mass. The contact point is composed of a gold alloy material.
