<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To create a device for injecting a solid, and to provide the device which has a simple design, and can be operated safely. <P>SOLUTION: The device 1 is a syringe for injecting a solid medicament 600 in a body of a human or an animal, and comprises a syringe body 100 mounted movably in a housing 200 and connected to a needle 122. A spring force acts on the syringe body 100 in a proximal direction, wherein movement of the syringe body 100 in the proximal direction can be freed by a first locking device 121, 220 that cooperates with the syringe body 100. A limit stop 410 is spaced from the syringe body immediately prior to the unlocking of the first locking device. By way of the limit stop of the primary plunger 400, the primary plunger can be driven back in the proximal direction through the syringe body when the first locking device is unlocked.
