<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a fluorescence image having correct luminance in response to image signals. <P>SOLUTION: An image display device comprises: an excitation light source 5 for outputting excitation light; a fluorescent screen 3 including multiple pixels each of which includes a phosphor region; scanning means 4 for scanning the fluorescent screen 3 by the excitation light from the excitation light source 5; light detection means 2 for detecting fluorescent light emitted from the phosphor region of each pixel of the fluorescent screen 3; and control means 1 for making the scanning means 4 perform multiple scanning per pixel, and, for each pixel, detecting a luminance value of the fluorescent light emitted from the phosphor region of the pixel for each scanning, based on the output of the light detection means 2. The control means 1 adjusts intensity of the excitation light output from the excitation light source 5, so that the total sum of the luminance value of the fluorescent light detected by the multiple scanning is a target luminance value, for each pixel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
