<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measure capable of suppressing generation of eutectic carbide in a segregation part, even in the case of not only a continuously cast material but also a bearing steel especially by an ingot. <P>SOLUTION: The ingot for bearings has a composition containing ≥0.56 and ≤0.70 mass% C, ≥0.15 and <0.50 mass% Si, ≥0.60 and ≤1.50 mass% Mn, ≥0.50 and ≤1.10 mass% Cr, ≤0.025 mass% P, ≤0.025 mass% S, ≥0.005 and ≤0.500 mass% Al, ≤0.0015 mass% O, and ≥0.0030 and ≤0.015 mass% N, with the remainder comprising Fe and incidental impurities, and having a eutectic carbide formation index Ec that satisfies 0<Ec≤0.25. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
