<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new structure capable of reducing a color mixture problem in a structure of a backlight unit which performs color-scan backlight drive. <P>SOLUTION: In the structure of the backlight unit for performing color-scan backlight drive, an optical system is arranged between a light source and a diffusion sheet so as to make light anisotropically spread, in order not to form a color mixture area caused by light emitted from the light source. Concretely, an intensity distribution of light in a short-axis direction is narrowed by the optical system arranged between the light source and the diffusion sheet. An intensity distribution of light in a long-axis direction is also equalized by the optical system. Thus, spread of the light of the light source in the short-axis direction, where the color mixture area is formed, can be restrained, and equalization of luminance on a light-emitting face in the long-axis direction can be achieved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
