<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that detection sensitivity of a quantum dot, of which the detectable wavelength is controlled, is low. <P>SOLUTION: A light receiving element includes: a first quantum dot made of a first material; a barrier part made of a second material different from the first material; and a first mixing layer formed by mixing the first material of the first quantum dot with the second material of the barrier part.
