<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new chemically stable liquid crystal compound having a low viscosity and a high clearing point, a method for producing the same, a liquid crystal composition satisfying conditions such as a quick responding property, a wide acting temperature range, etc., and a liquid crystal electrooptical element excellent in quick responding property in a wide temperature range. <P>SOLUTION: This liquid crystal composition is expressed by formula (1): R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>-(A<SP POS="POST">1</SP>-Z<SP POS="POST">1</SP>)<SB POS="POST">m</SB>-(A<SP POS="POST">2</SP>-Z<SP POS="POST">2</SP>)<SB POS="POST">n</SB>-(A<SP POS="POST">3</SP>-Z<SP POS="POST">3</SP>)<SB POS="POST">o</SB>-A<SP POS="POST">4</SP>-CF<SB POS="POST">2</SB>CF<SB POS="POST">2</SB>CH=CH-A<SP POS="POST">5</SP>-(Z<SP POS="POST">4</SP>-A<SP POS="POST">6</SP>)<SB POS="POST">p</SB>-(Z<SP POS="POST">5</SP>-A<SP POS="POST">7</SP>)<SB POS="POST">q</SB>-(Z<SP POS="POST">6</SP>-A<SP POS="POST">8</SP>)<SB POS="POST">r</SB>-R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>[wherein R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>are each H, a halogen atom or 1-10C monovalent non-cyclic aliphatic hydrocarbon; A<SP POS="POST">1</SP>to A<SP POS="POST">8</SP>are each a cyclic group such as trans-1,4-cyclohexylene, 1,4-phenylene, or the like; Z<SP POS="POST">1</SP>to Z<SP POS="POST">6</SP>are each a single bond, -O-, -S-, -COO- or a 1-4C bivalent non-cyclic aliphatic hydrocarbon group; (m), (n), (o), (p), (q) and (r) are independently with each other and 0 or 1 äprovided that (m+n+o+p+q+r)≤3}; and provided that hydrogen atoms in the groups may be replaced with a halogen atom, between the carbon-carbon atoms or at the bonding terminal of the group in the mono or bivalent non-cyclic aliphatic hydrocarbon groups, the -O- or -S- may be inserted, and in the cyclic groups, the =CH- group may be replaced with a nitrogen atom and the -CH<SB POS="POST">2</SB>- group may be replaced with the -O- or -S-]. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
