<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing technique capable of easily reducing the generation of ghosts without using a pre-exposing device in an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus of the present invention reduces ghosts generated on images formed in a focus station located downstream in the circumferential surface movement direction of a photosensitive drum by correcting image data used for image formation at the focus station. Specifically, the correction amount applied for the image data is determined from image data used for each of the focus station and one or more stations further upstream than the focus station. The correction amount is determined at the focus station to be the amount reducing the difference between a reference potential, which is a surface potential of the photosensitive drum after exposure when a ghost is not generated, and a surface potential of the photosensitive drum after exposure when the ghost is generated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
