<p>The invention relates to a drainage box (1) to be fitted on the buried portion of a water distribution device, such as a flush hydrant, post hydrant, or a water supply unit, for example, and to be mounted on the substantially vertical standpipe of the device and on the supply line(s) of said standpipe, said line(s) extending substantially orthogonally to said standpipe, characterised in that it comprises a system for adapting to the size and space requirements of both the standpipe and at least the supply line(s), so as to form a multi-stage, universal adapter system.
