<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-diffusing plate capable of reliably suppressing moire, a method for manufacturing the light-diffusing plate, a surface light source device including the light-diffusing plate, and a liquid crystal display device including the light-diffusing plate. <P>SOLUTION: The light-diffusing plate 50 is to be disposed on a back face of a liquid crystal panel of a liquid crystal display device, and includes a plurality of optical elements 53 on a face 50b in a liquid crystal panel side, the optical elements extending in a first direction and arranged parallel to one another at a pitch P<SB POS="POST">l</SB>in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. When a pitch of pixels 11 of the liquid crystal panel in the second direction is expressed by P<SB POS="POST">p</SB>and pitches P<SB POS="POST">m</SB>1 and P<SB POS="POST">m</SB>2 of the moire based on the periodical structure of the optical elements and pixels in the second direction are expressed by P<SB POS="POST">m</SB>1=P<SB POS="POST">p</SB>×P<SB POS="POST">l</SB>/¾P<SB POS="POST">p</SB>-P<SB POS="POST">l</SB>¾ and P<SB POS="POST">m</SB>2=0.5P<SB POS="POST">p</SB>×P<SB POS="POST">l</SB>/¾0.5P<SB POS="POST">p</SB>-P<SB POS="POST">l</SB>¾, P<SB POS="POST">l</SB>is a value satisfying that both of P<SB POS="POST">m</SB>1 and P<SB POS="POST">m</SB>2 are less than 1500 μm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
