<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display system capable of controlling to increase display luminance by lengthen a lighting period of a backlight when a parallax is small. <P>SOLUTION: The stereoscopic image display device comprises: parallax adjustment means to adjust a parallax between a left-eye image and a right-eye image; a light source to display a stereoscopic image; and light source control means to change a lighting period of the light source.
