<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passenger conveyor including a safety device which prevents an unnecessary sudden stop occurring when baggage or the like of a passenger collides with the safety device. <P>SOLUTION: The passenger conveyer 1 includes: a moving body connected endlessly; side part skirt guards 41 as side walls of the moving body; end part skirt guards 42 connected to the side part skirt guards 41; parapets 2 each having an inner deck cover 7 formed of decorative material; hand rails 3 moving on peripheral edges of the parapets 2; the safety devices 5 arranged on doorways of the handrails; and protection devices 6 of the doorways of the handrails. The protection device 6 is extended from a side surface on a moving body side of the end part skirt guard 42 so as to cover a side part of the safety device 5.
