<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that prevents deterioration of materials provided to an image forming unit that does not carry out image formation but merely passes sheets in single-sided printing processing; and that can be installed in a smaller space and manufactured at a lower cost. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100 includes: a first image forming unit 1 and a second image forming unit 2, either of which is used to carry out single-sided printing processing; and a first control part 10 that switches an operation mode of an image forming unit that passes sheets to a monochrome mode if the operation mode of the image forming unit is set to a color mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
