<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of contamination on an image and the decrease of a printing density by stabilizing a developer layer on a developer carrier after passing through a layer regulating member. <P>SOLUTION: A developing device includes a developer supplying member 16 supplying a developer to a developer carrier 15 and a layer regulating member 17 in which at least a part coming into contact with the developer carrier is formed like a flat plate, a plane part is formed in a space up to the top end, and the outer surface of the plane part is brought into press-contact with the developer carrier, to make the developer into a thin layer. When the volume average particle diameter of the developer is defined as D [μm], the absolute value of the average electrification amount Q of the developer after passing through the developer supplying member and before passing through the layer regulating member, on the developer carrier is defined as ¾Q¾ [μ C/g], and the press-contact force of the layer regulating member with the developer carrier is defined as P [g/cm], D≤10 is obtained and 149.39-15.77×D+1.14×¾Q¾<P<293.74-18.97×D+0.82×¾Q¾ is obtained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
