<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an impeller for a high speed centrifugal pump that prevents cavitation. <P>SOLUTION: An impeller for a centrifugal pump includes a radially inner hub, and a plurality of blades extending straight and along a direction that is perpendicular to a rotational axis of the impeller. The blades extend from a radially outer end to a radially inner end, and define a generally frusto-conical outer wall.
