PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging lens which can be used, for example, in an imaging apparatus for a portable terminal, and which can photograph at a wide-angle of view and high resolution while allowing mass production and low cost, and an imaging apparatus using the imaging lens.

SOLUTION: In a basic configuration of the invention for achieving a wide-angle of view and high resolution, an imaging lens comprises: in order from the object side, a biconvex first lens having positive power; an aperture diaphragm; a meniscus-shaped second lens having positive power with a concave surface on the object side and a convex surface on the image side; and a third lens.
