<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sanitary washing device that can downsize itself, in particular in the height direction. <P>SOLUTION: A sanitary washing device comprises; a washing nozzle that has a water discharge port and washes a user's body by spraying water from the water discharge port; and a casing that can house the washing nozzle. When the washing nozzle changes from a housed state in which the washing nozzle is housed in the casing to an advanced state in which the washing nozzle is advanced from the casing, the washing nozzle transitions to a posture in which the angle of the washing nozzle axis becomes larger with respect to the horizontal plane, using the space above the washing nozzle as in the housed state through the advance movement of the washing nozzle.
