The present invention relates to a method, apparatus, and recording medium for providing a fishing game on the basis of a card system. A method for providing a fishing game on the basis of a card system according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: allowing a server, which provides the fishing game, to receive character information and selection information of outdoor environment information from at least one client, and to provide the client with map information for execution of the fishing game; monitoring a game progress result of the client and checking whether or not an indication is generated; transmitting indication generation data to display the indication to the client when the generation of an indication is required as a result of checking; and allocating a card to a character controlled by the client according to preset card allocation rules when a game action related to the generation of the indication has been performed by the client, and transmitting a message notifying the allocation of the card to the client.
