METHOD AND DEVICE FOR GENERATING STEREOSCOPIC IMAGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide larger depth feeling even from a photograph (image) with small parallax, which is photographed by a 3D camera for the general public.

SOLUTION: A method for arranging a plurality of images 2 with the parallax at the back of each lens of a lenticular lens 1 or inputting image light and generating the image so that it becomes a stereoscopic image when it is viewed by both eyes from an eye face is provided. The image 2 is arranged so that occupancy width of each image with the parallax becomes larger toward both ends and becomes smaller toward a center on at least partial adjacent images among the plurality of images with the parallax. For example, a region of a first image P1 and a forth image P4 is expanded to about 1.33 times and that of a second image P2 and a third image P3 is narrowed to about 0.67 times compared to a case when the images are equally occupied. Consequently, the occupancy width of the first image P1 and the fourth image P4 becomes twice as much as that of the second mage P2 and the third image P3.
