<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printed matter configured such that three images are visible under different observing conditions, which are under reflected light, under transparent light, and under infrared light source, by using a precise dot configuration. <P>SOLUTION: In the printed matter, at least a part of the surface of a transparent base material has a transparent latent image area in which an image is formed using three dots. The first dots form a visible image of continuous gradation by their being arranged by use of a material that contains no infrared absorbing dye. The third dots form a first latent image by their being arranged within the first dots by use of a material that contains the infrared absorbing dye. The second dots are arranged within the second dots by use of a transparent material, thereby forming the second latent image.
