<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent an information recording medium item such as paper currency stored in a cassette of an ATM from jamming in the cassette when taken out. <P>SOLUTION: A pick unit comprises a frame and a picking assembly. The frame includes (i) one or a plurality of guides which accommodate a currency cassette, (ii) a meandering path which guides and supports a cam follower, and (iii) a detent. The picking assembly includes (i) a guide edge configured to allow the picking assembly to abut against the detent when moving to an initial alignment position; (ii) the cam follower configured to align the detachable picking assembly with the path when the detachable picking assembly moves from the initial alignment position to an engagement position; and a gear train configured to engage an upper gear outside the pick unit when the detachable picking assembly moves to the engagement position where the cam follower reaches an end of the meandering path. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
