<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program, a portable terminal and a method for making a call, by automatically selecting whether to make a call using an Internet network via a wireless LAN or to make a call using a mobile phone network, without user's intentional activation. <P>SOLUTION: A calling input section 30 of a portable terminal 10 receives a calling operation from a user through a common interface between a call using an Internet network via a wireless LAN and a call using a mobile phone network. When it is determined that the radio wave state of the wireless LAN is favorable and that the portable terminal 10 is not moving, call processing is executed using the Internet network via the wireless LAN.
