There is provided plantlet handing apparatus including a housing (70) for a nutrient medium. A plurality of plantlet holders (72) each include a pair of body portions forming, in assembly, an open-topped container having apertures open to the nutrient medium in use. The body portions include engagement means engaging the body portions in assembly for handling and permitting separation. A plantlet holder support (71) is located in the housing and supports the plantlet holders in the nutrient medium while maintaining the body portions together. A closure (73) has a substantially airtight seal to the housing and has windows (111) of selected permeability to metabolic gases produced or required by plantlets. |
