The invention relates to an aqueous floor polishing composition that comprises a polyoxyalkylene diester compound represented by formula (1) and does not comprise an elemental phosphorus-containing plasticizer. R1 and R2 in formula (1) each independently represent C1-24 alkyl groups, m represents an integer of 2-4, and n represents a number of 2-4. Because this aqueous floor polishing composition does not comprise an elemental phosphorus-containing plasticizer, it does not adversely affect the environment despite leveling, luster and heel mark resistance being excellent.
