<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inspect a halo phenomenon of an image output by a printer by using an image inspection apparatus, and to reprint the image after performing optimum correction on an original image according to the degree of occurrence of the halo phenomenon. <P>SOLUTION: An image inspection apparatus 104 compares an inspection image, which is obtained by reading, through the use of a reader 105, a printed material output by an image output apparatus 103, with an original image (a correct image) in a digital front end DFE 102 so as to determine a color difference. When the color difference is moderate, a halftone processing method is changed so as to correct a halo phenomenon. When the color difference is great, a correction control section 113 performs pixel value correction on the original image according to the color difference so as to correct the halo phenomenon.
