<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine the presence or absence of fall of a liquid ejecting apparatus in a power OFF state. <P>SOLUTION: A movable member configured to move when a liquid ejecting apparatus is inclined from a posture to be taken when ejecting liquid upon receipt of an action of the gravitational force and a movement history storage means configured to store the fact that the movable member is moved in response to abutment with the moved movable member are provided and the presence or absence of the movement of the movable member is acquired after the power has been turned on.
