<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling bearing which can suppress premature flaking caused by hydrogen embrittlement. <P>SOLUTION: The rolling bearing includes an outer race 11 and an inner race 12 having a circular track, and a plurality of balls 13 which come into contact with the outer race 11 and the inner race 12 and which are rollably disposed on the circular track. At least one bearing member among the outer race 11, the inner race 12 and the balls 13 is formed of a JIS standard SUJ2 material. The bearing member is subjected to quenching. The bearing member has rolling contact surfaces 11A, 12A and 13A which are subjected to nitriding treatment. When a standard rolling bearing steel ball formed of a SUJ2 material and having a diameter of 19.05 mm is pressed to the bearing member at a load of 3.18 kN for 10 seconds and then the load is removed, an indentation formed in the bearing member has a depth of 0.1 μm or less. Hardness of the rolling contact surfaces 11A, 12A, 13A by the Rockwell C scale is HRC 60.5 to HRC 62.1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
