摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power management system capable of reducing power consumption of an unused travelling wave tube in a dual travelling wave tube amplifier. <P>SOLUTION: This power management system is for a satellite-mounted dual travelling wave tube amplifier. The dual travelling wave tube amplifier comprises two travelling wave tubes 24 and electronic power conditioners 20, 21, 22 for supplying power to them, and the power management system is assembled in the electronic power conditioners. Each travelling wave tube 24 includes an anode zero electrode, and a voltage A0 is applied on the electrode from a power management means 22 associated with each travelling wave tube 24. The power management system functions so that the voltage A0 of the anode zero electrode is set to the prescribed minimum value, by the power management means 22, when a sleep mode is activated, and the operating power of the travelling wave tube 24 is thereby maintained at a value lower than a nominal operating range.
