<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively suppress generation of a reflection component in an interface when light is made incident on a phosphor layer of a color wheel. <P>SOLUTION: When light is made incident on a phosphor layer 504 formed on the surface of a color wheel substrate 502, a reflection component in an interface is reduced by irregularity of the surface of the phosphor layer 504 and interference between radiated light and reflected light is thus reduced. Then, refraction of the light into the phosphor layer 504 is promoted and light transmitted into the phosphor layer 504 is increased. A rugged shape 506 is formed of microparticles P dispersed in the phosphor layer 504 with phosphor F together. Namely, the shape of the microparticle P itself appears as a projection shape on the surface of the phosphor layer 504, thereby eliminating steps for forming a rugged shape on the surface of the phosphor layer 504, for example, for transferring a fine convexoconcave shape onto the surface of the phosphor layer by a stamper, or for applying an etching process to the surface of the phosphor layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
