The present invention relates to a backplane device (16) for a light source matrix (12). A light source (Di, 500) is preferably a LED or an OLED. A pixel circuitry (20, 32, 34, 36) of the backplane device (16) is assigned to a light source (Di, 500) of the light source matrix (12) for controlling the light source 5 (Di, 500). One light source (Di, 500) and one pixel circuitry (20, 32, 34, 36) constitute a pixel (Pxy, 14). The pixels (Pxy, 14) of the light source matrix (12) are classified according to a pixel characteristic. The order of switching the light sources (Di, 500) on and/or off depends on the pixel characteristic and not necessarily on the location of the pixel (Pxy, 14) on the backplane device (16). A current (I_analog) being applied to the light sources (Di, 500) is controlled by at least one driver. The at least 10 one driver is electrically connectable to at least one pixel (Pxy, 14). The at least one driver is not belonging to the pixel circuitry (20, 32, 34, 36) of the pixel (Pxy, 14). |
