<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toilet seat mounting device having a shaft member having a reduced vertical dimension to reduce the size of the shaft member. <P>SOLUTION: The toilet seat mounting device 30 includes a cylinder member 40 fixed to a toilet bowl body 80, the shaft member 60 inserted into the cylinder member, and integrated with a supporting member to be guided liftably, and a holding device 31 for holding the shaft member 60 at a lifted position. The holding device 31 includes a receiving ring 47 (receiving portion) provided on the inner periphery of the cylinder member 40 to be radially and resiliently displaced, and an engaging portion 62 provided on the outer periphery of the shaft member 60. When the engaging portion 62 is engaged to the receiving ring 47 from above, the shaft member 60 and the supporting member 13 are held at the lifted position, and when a downward external force larger than the engaging force between the shaft member and the receiving ring 47 is applied to the shaft member 60 held at the lifted position, the receiving ring 47 is resiliently displaced radially, and the engagement between the receiving ring and the engaging portion 62 is released. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
