<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection method of a foreign material-contaminated product for detecting whether or not products that are continuously conveyed by such as a conveyor are contaminated with foreign materials, in a non-contact, quick, and accurate manner by using image processing technology. <P>SOLUTION: A detection method of a foreign material-contaminated product includes the steps of: creating a histogram of brightness and coloring data from image data information obtained by capturing an image of a product conveyed on a conveyor with a camera; subjecting the histogram to binarization processing to create a non-defective area; comparing the non-defective area with image data information obtained from a product conveyed later; determining that the product is contaminated with a foreign material if the number of pixel data outside the range of the non-defective area is detected to be a predetermined number or more; and eliminating the product from a conveyor line. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
